Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring near a popular southern California beach abruptly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.
Recordings shared on social media show the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palms and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders stated five people were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” following the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
