England Bring Back Bukayo Saka While Bellingham, Phil Foden & Jack Grealish Miss Out

Bukayo Saka in action

The Arsenal forward has recorded a dozen goals in 44 games for the national team.

England have recalled the Arsenal winger for next week's fixtures versus Wales and Latvia, yet there's no spot for Jude Bellingham, Foden or Jack Grealish.

Gunners attacker Bukayo Saka was absent from the previous qualifier victories over Serbia and Andorra with a muscle problem.

Saka recently returned for Arsenal and found the net in their 2-0 win over Olympiacos on Wednesday.

The England international comes in for club colleague Madueke, who is sidelined until November with a knee injury.

England face Wales in a friendly at the national stadium this week prior to a qualifying match in Latvia on 14 October.

Should England triumph against Latvia, they will require a maximum of two points from their last two qualifiers versus Albania and Serbia in November to qualify for next summer's tournament in North America.

Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah replaces Newcastle's Livramento, who is out for up to eight weeks after suffering a knee issue versus Arsenal recently.

Anderson and Djed Spence, who received their first England call-ups previously, keep their spots. Ruben Loftus-Cheek also keeps his spot, even with the recovery of Adam Wharton.

The attacker has featured in just one game for the manager since taking over as national team boss, because of injury concerns.

Bellingham was absent from the last England international camp as he recovered from shoulder surgery and has only made one start for Real Madrid since returning to fitness.

Foden was left out from Tuchel's last England squad after a dip in performance and has been unsuccessful in returning, despite a impressive beginning to the campaign with City.

The forward also is excluded despite a revival in form on loan at Everton. He has not played for the national team since October 2024.

'Attention turns to excluded players'

Thomas Tuchel's new selection brings scrutiny to the players the head coach has left out instead of the players he has selected.

Bellingham’s exclusion may cause surprise but Tuchel believes there is no need to recall the Real Madrid star.

Manchester City's Phil Foden and on-loan Everton forward Grealish have both performed well in the early stages of the campaign.

Those who Tuchel utilised in the team’s World Cup qualifier wins versus Serbia and Andorra deserve the chance to continue.

It will bring regret that the Gunners’ Noni Madueke is not included due to injury.

The Forest player has settled well at international level.

The England boss is a admirer of the attacker, in particular, and also Foden.

If there is one surprise, it comes in the absence of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

The star, naturally, will be required in the future.
